Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, date of birth, or other term entered in a search tool goes directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems. Do not submit sensitive identifiers unless you have reviewed the provider's privacy terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive limited technical information when a page loads:
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and type of device
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- Referring website, when available
- Date and time of each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics services use them to understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information supports operation and improvement of the website. We may use it for the following purposes:
- Operating the website and improving load times
- Routing a query to the appropriate outside search provider
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Selecting advertising that may reflect user interests
No Warrant Data on File
Jefferson County Warrant Records does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a warrant database or personal warrant-record files. The site explains official routes through the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Clerk of Superior Court, Magistrate Court, and municipal courts. Georgia has no single statewide public warrant search. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or dossiers about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools displayed on some pages. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to information submitted there, and those practices are outside our control. Read the applicable provider policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Georgia court resources, municipal portals, legal-aid organizations, or outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy governs. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. Such tracking occurs through their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Outside search providers processing submitted queries
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving ads on the site
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for information in our control. No internet-connected service can guarantee complete security, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights over personal data depend on applicable law and where you live. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 et seq., governs access to qualifying government records; it does not turn this private site into a public agency. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal information we retain about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for deletion of your data
- Decline certain processing where the law permits
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A revised version becomes available on this page with its new effective date, so review it periodically for changes.
